When do applications open? March 2, 2026
When is the deadline to apply? April 10, 2026
When do the academies start? The four Snap Academies start on June 15, 2026 and end on August 14, 2026. There will be a Final Showcase tentatively held on August 12, 2026.

What should I do to get ready before the application launch?
Great question! We encourage you to update your resume as a starter! If you have a LinkedIn profile or even a webpage, digital portfolio, or Github with your work samples, update those as well. Lastly, request your most updated transcript to submit with your application.
We’ll be hosting a series of information sessions, skills workshops and alumni panels leading up to the application deadline.

What can I expect to happen as I’m going through the application process?
Here’s what you can expect about this year’s process which is broken down into stages.

Stage 1: Application + Video Interview
You’ll select the Academy application, upload your resume and work samples, and fill out a few background questions. Once you submit your application, you’ll receive an email with instructions to record video responses to some interview prompts.
The deadline to submit the application and video interview is April 10th, 2026 by 11:59 PM PT/ April 11th, 2026 by 2:59 AM ET.
The hiring committee will review your application and your video interview to determine if you will move forward to Stage 2 of the application process.
Stage 2: Project-based Assessment
If selected, you’ll get the opportunity to showcase your current skills. We want to understand where you’re at in your learning journey.
You’ll have a few days to complete an assessment and submit. The hiring committee, which includes former instructors from each of the Snap Academies, will review your assessment submission and determine if you move forward to the final stage.
Final stage: Interview
If selected, you’ll schedule a 30 minute interview slot. You’ll interview with a current Snap employee, who’s interested in learning more about you!
The hiring committee will make final decisions by May 20, 2026— a little less than one month before the start of the 2026 Snap Academies.
What can I expect after I apply, interview, and get selected?
Scholars accepted into the Snap Academies will be notified via email and phone by no later than May 20th. Here’s what you can expect leading up to the start:

What we’re looking for:
You're a future web developer with experience in computer science fundamentals in the form of on-the-job experience, coursework, or online courses. And you enjoy sharing your personal portfolio from GitHub or other platforms.
You feel comfortable working in at least two popular languages (Python, Java, C/C++/C#, Java, Ruby, PHP, Perl, Go, Rust, R, or Bash. You're also a data sleuth who's curious about intermediate data structures and algorithms.
What you’ll experience:
Snap Engineering Academy Scholars living in the Southern CA region will receive an academy payment including transportation expenses to participate (in-person) at Snap offices in Santa Monica, CA.
Each student will participate in custom, technical workshops, fireside chats and mentorship with Snap Inc. team members. A final group project will culminate the academy experience.

What we’re looking for:
You're a natural storyteller with a passion for marketing, communications and branding. You have some experience or interest in conducting customer and market research, defining a brand strategy, conducting a marketing campaign, or producing internal/external communications. You have a talent for telling engaging stories that people love and remember for years to come.
What you’ll experience:
Snap Storytelling Academy Scholars living in the Southern CA region will receive an academy payment including transportation expenses to participate (in-person) at Snap offices in Santa Monica, CA.
Each student will participate in custom, creative workshops, fireside chats and mentorship with Snap Inc. team members. A final group project will culminate the academy experience.

* 18 years + community college students (currently enrolled or a recent transfer to a four year college are eligible to apply)
What we’re looking for:
You design for the future. You have a diverse skillset that includes expertise with at least one 2D design software (Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe Photoshop CC, Procreate, Inkscape, etc.) Your curiosity has led you to dabble in programming languages like Javascript, but your main interest is in augmented reality.
What you’ll experience:
Snap Lens Academy Scholars living anywhere in the U.S. will receive an academy payment including home learning expenses to participate remotely (via Zoom)
Each student will participate in custom, creative workshops, fireside chats and mentorship with Snap Inc. team members. A final group project will culminate the academy experience.
